Peptide Reconstitution FAQ

Reconstitution errors usually start before the first dose is ever drawn. This FAQ collects the highest-priority workflow questions and links out to the deeper guides and tools.

Why is concentration the first thing to calculate?

Because every later unit conversion depends on it. If the concentration is wrong, the syringe mark will be wrong even if the arithmetic after that is perfect.

Why is BAC water usually preferred for multi-dose workflows?

BAC water contains benzyl alcohol as a bacteriostatic preservative. That does not guarantee sterility, but it adds preservative support that saline does not provide in repeated-access vial workflows.

Can I shake a vial to make it dissolve faster?

Gentle swirling is the safer default. Aggressive shaking can increase foaming and structural stress in peptide solutions.

What are the most common reconstitution mistakes?

Incorrect concentration math, poor sterile technique, incomplete labeling, and assuming one solvent or one protocol works identically for every peptide.
